Am I Crazy?
Ok, so I've been getting these really weird surprised looks from people when they find out how soon David and I are getting married. Seriously? January 19th is over 3 months from the time we got engaged. That just doesn't seem so short to me. I've heard of a lot shorter that's for sure. And it's not like David and I just met either. Secondly, are we crazy for not just going off somewhere and getting married by ourselves? Am I crazy for thinking that our close friends and possibly some family might ACTUALLY come to this? Am I crazy for booking a chapel and having a reception instead of doing it in someone's home or backyard? Am I crazy?? Because I feel like some people think I am. For planning all this and wanting to do this. But is it wrong? Should we just elope and be done with it? Sometimes I just just wish people could be happy for you..... ya know? But am I crazy?

So we all know you are crazy...but not this time! Brett and I were only engaged 4 months..total dating was 9 months. In my opinion, you only need to be engaged for the time it takes you to plan a wedding. Besides, it's your life and you get to make the decisions. I am sorry that you have had so many negative comments/thoughts directed at you during a time that is supposed to be filled with excitement and encouragement. May God bless you with HIS peace during this time.
You're kidding. Honestly, when you told me the wedding date, I thought that I'd be wanting to do it sooner! Not run off or anything, but definitely sooner. I'm not saying that to just be another critic, but to say that I just don't get why people think you're rushing into this. What in the world?! Picture me doing an eye roll right now. Nope, you guys aren't crazy for doing all this. This is a special time and you guys are amazing(not crazy!)for wanting to allow your girls, families, and dear friends to be a part of your special day. I for one am pretty dang excited about it!I'm so sorry that some people are trying to steal your joy. We are tickled to death for you guys. Love you so much and let me know if I can do anything. I'll come to do whatever you need!
I agree with April and Dee. Doesn't sound crazy to me...actually it sounds crazy that somebody would think you are crazy. I can diagnose crazy and sorry this does not qualify you for it. Your life...your decision. I realize that this is novel concept. Try not to let others rain on your parade. It's your party and you can plan it how you want to. Sometimes people just need to keep their two cents to themselves. Celebrate how you want to...surrounded by the family and friends that love you!
Grrr...people like that conjure very un-Christian thoughts in my head! No one has said it here yet, but it seems the elephant in the room is that some people don't think second marriages deserve all the hoopla. If someone whose opinion you truly value articulates a legitimate reason why they think what you're doing is a bad idea--give it some thought. Then you and David make your own decision. If people don't know you well enough to even talk to you about it or they just make snap judgments about the way they think things appear, who cares what they think? Have fun, and do it the way that makes you happiest. I love you!
No, girl. You need to do what is best for you and your sweet family. Seth and I were friends first and then had a short dating/engagement!
I am so happy for you! Your engagement pics are beautiful! You are glowing!
You both are at a point in your lives where you are mature and know exactly what you want - who cares what everyone else thinks?
